Home Fire Safety Extinguishers

Home & domestic fire safety should never be skipped. In 2007 there were over 36,000 fires in the home, which luckily is a number that has been falling in recent years. This is due to the fact that more people are using fire extinguishers, smoke alarms and fire blankets in the home.

We would recommend Powder Fire Extinguishers for domestic use as they cover a wide range of Fire Classes including A, B, C and electrical hazards. Although a 1kg Powder extinguisher can be used in the home it would be better to have a 2kg as this would offer a higher fire rating. In a perfect world it would be wise to have a CO2 Fire Extinguisher but size constraints might rule this out.

Fire Kills, if in doubt, get out and call 999 immediately. The safety of your family should be paramount at all times. Do not tackle a fire you are not confident of controlling. Also consider smoke alarms, carbon monoxide detectors and fire blankets for the home.
